As with all volunteer organizations we rely on the community to provide support and monetary or other assistance.  Westcoast Inland Search and Rescue would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the following businesses and organizations who have helped us along the way.

Most recently we have been able to replace our command truck damaged from the 2013 fire, and added a Jeep Wrangler utility vehicle to our fleet.  We would like to acknowledge and thank Telus, Jamies Whaling Station, Woodgrove Chrysler and Crystal Cove Resort for their generous contributions to make this happen.

Additional supporters, apart from the donation from the Gibson Barge Company, are in alphabetical order not in order of importance as every contribution is of equal importance.

The Gibson Barge Company made a key donation to the Society at its founding in honour of the four Gibson brothers: Clarke, Gordon, Jack and Earson. Without this donation the Westcoast Inland Search and Rescue society would not exist today.

Alberni Clayoquot Regional District has made “Grant in Aid” donations to WISAR for the last four years.

District of Tofino has made donations annually. In 2003 WISAR started participating as a member of the Tofino Emergency Management Committee.

Iisaak Forest Resources has made donations to WISAR and also provided valuable mapping data at no cost.

National Search and Rescue Secretariat ( ) NSS funding has been critical in the growth of capacity that the WISAR has experienced over the last four years. For more information see National Search and Rescue Secretariat page on this web site.

Parks Canada provides a wide range of support to WISAR and its members including the use of parks facilities for training and storage of some equipment and joint work on mapping information. Some Parks employees are WISAR members and WISAR has provided SAR services to the Park when required.

Ucluelet Detachment of the RCMP provides space to WISAR for equipment storage as well as a meeting room for training and operations.

Wickanninish Inn has given permission for employees to attend searches during work hours and recently donated a very generous prize for our logo contest.
